Chorotype. Atlanto-Mediterranean.
Distribution in North Africa. Algeria ( İncekara & Bouzid 2007) and Morocco ( Przewoźny 2022).
Published Moroccan records. Central Plateau. Casablanca ( Escalera 1914) and Rabat ( El Alaoui 1983, 1985). Middle Atlas. Ifrane ( Kocher 1958) .
Remark. The species was cited in Morocco a long time ago by an author not specialising in aquatic coleoptera, therefore, its presence in Morocco should be confirmed.

Tétouan (Smir). 1 ♂, deposited at the Museum from London, Arno van Berge Henegouwen det. Tangier. 2 ♂, 1♀, 6-II-1931, in coll. Angus, Arno van Berge Henegouwen det. Gharb. 1 ♂, 6-II-1931, Lindberg Leg, Arno van Berge Henegouwen det.
Chorotype. Moroccan endemic.
Distribution in North Africa. Morocco ( Löbl & Löbl 2015)
Published Moroccan records. Rif and Pré-Rif: Tanger, Tétouan ( Bennas et al. 2007), Chefchaouen ( Bennas 2002; Bennas et al. 2007) and Taounate ( Bennas 2002).
Remark. The species was reported from Morocco by Fairmaire (1877), but without specifying localities. This species has been proposed for inclusion in the future Red List of Threatened Species for Morocco (see Benamar et al. 2021b).
