Notes
According to Angus (1992), H. nevadensis is endemic to the alpine zone of Spanish mountains. The species was recorded from Turkey (Tokat) ( Polat et al. 2010). We checked an H. nevadensis specimen from BNHM labelled as “6: SPAIN: GRANADA: 2400–2700 m on S side of Sierra Nevada on Pampaneira: 15 April 1985 R.B. Angus and G.N. Foster” and compared it with the Turkish materials. Two of four Turkish specimens were rather spoiled. General appearance, body length, aedeagophore structure and length of two other specimens were as in the Spanish material, but elytra was darker in Spanish specimens. Specimens were sent to Dr Robert Angus for checking the identification. His answer was that the specimens, without any doubt, belong to Helophorus montenegrinus Kuwert, 1885 .
