Nectria lateritia (P. Karst.) Rossman, Mycol. Pap. View in CoL 150: 22. 1983.
Description and illustration:— Hirooka et al. (2012).
Habitat:—On the bark and dead wood of dicotyledonous trees, including Manihot utilissima ( Euphorbiaceae ).
Distribution:—Asia ( China, Malaysia), South America ( Brazil, Venezuela).
Notes:— Nectria lateritia was recorded from Eriobotrya japonica in China ( Tai 1979). It was described and illustrated by Rossman (1983) and by Samuels & Brayford (1994). This species is similar to both N. pseudocinnabarina and N. pseudotrichia in the structure of its ascomatal wall, synnematous anamorph. However, N. lateritia differs from these species in having 3-septate, striate ascospores ( Hirooka et al. 2012).
