Type material: Holotype male (BDN no. 08973), CHINA: Guizhou Province, Libo County, 7.viii.1995, light trap, W. Bu.

Diagnostic characters. The species is similar to P. cirratum sp. n. in the shape of superior and inferior volsella. It can be separated by the colour of thorax and legs, and by the swollen gonostylus. Etymology. Named in honor of Prof. W. Bu, who collected the material.

Male (n = 1). Total length 2.55 mm. Wing length 1.18 mm. Total length / wing length 2.16. Wing length / length of profemur 2.11.

Coloration. Thorax brown, mid preepisternum slightly darker brown and anterior 1/4 of postnotum dark brown. Foreleg brown, with basal 2/3 of femur and basal half of ta1 yellowish brown, mid- and hind legs yellowish green, with distal 1/3 of femur and tibia dark brown. Abdomen ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ) with tergites I–V yellowish green, tergite VI darkish brown, tergites VII, VIII and hypopygium dark brown.

Head. AR 1.63. Ultimate flagellomere 490 Μm long. Frontal tubercles cylindrical, 5 Μm long, 3 Μm wide. Temporal 9 setae including 2 inner verticals, 4 outer verticals and 3 postorbitals. Clypeus with 10 setae. Tentorium 95 Μm long, 22 Μm wide. Palpomere lengths (in Μm): 27, 30, 77, 100, 155. Palpomere 5/3 2.01.

Thorax. Antepronotals absent, dorsocentrals 5, acrostichals 4, prealars 3. Scutellum with 5 setae.

Wing ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ). VR 1.19. Brachiolum with 2 setae. R with 6, R1 bare, R4+5 with 1 apical seta. Squama broken.

Legs. Foretibia with 1 subapical seta, 80 Μm long; spurs of midtibia 18 Μm and 23 Μm long, comb with 18 teeth, 8 Μm long; spurs of hind tibia 18 Μm and 28 Μm long, comb with 40 teeth, 10 Μm long. Mid ta1 with 1 sensilla chaetica. Lengths and proportions of legs as in Table 2 View TABLE 2 .

Hypopygium ( Figs 11–12 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ). Anal point 45 Μm long, constricted at base, widening towards apex. Tergite IX with 12 setae at base of anal point. Laterosternite IX with 1 seta. Anal tergite bands Y-shaped. Phallapodeme 50 Μm long. Transverse sternapodeme 33 Μm long. Superior volsella pediform, dorsal and ventral lobe largely fused, with 8 strong setae, covered with microtrichia. Inferior volsella with rounded lobe covered with microtrichia. Gonocoxite 76 Μm long, inner margin with 3 strong setae. Gonostylus 121 Μm long, narrowed at base, widest at apical 1/3. HR 0.63, HV 2.11.

Distribution. The species was collected in Guizhou province, China.
