ORIGIN: From the posterior surface of the medial condyle of the tibia.
INSERTION: Via a tendon that attaches to the ventromedial surface of the medial tarsale, and then continues out into the sole of the foot.
REMARKS: This muscle has the same general form in Condylura , Desmana , Neurotrichus , Parascalops , Scalopus , Scapanus , Scaptonyx , Talpa , Uropsilus , and Urotrichus . In Galemys , this muscle originates as above, but apparently inserts just in connective tissue on the medial side of the foot, as I did not find a medial tarsale in this genus.
