Material examined. 3 females, Islas Canarias, La Gomera, El Cercado, 1.v.2000? 3♀, leg. J.T. Smit; La Gomera, Alojera , 30.iv.2000 , 1 ♀, leg. J.T. Smit; La Palma, Cumbre Nueva , 15.vii.1985 , 1 ♀, leg. W.N. Ellis; 1 female, La Palma, Roque de los Muchachos , 16.vii.1985 , 1 ♀, leg. W.N. Ellis ( RMNH) .
This species is endemic to the Canary Islands. The larvae develop in galls formed in the flower heads of Senecio steetzii ( Merz, 1992) .
