Zygethobius sokarienus Chamberlin 1911b: 382 ; Mercurio 2010: 48 (complete references)
“ Zygethobius sokariensus ,” Hollington & Edgecombe 2004: 25
Only known at this time from Mill Valley, California ( San Francisco Bay Area ). It is difficult to find characters in Chamberlin’s (1912) detailed description, aside from color, to differentiate this species from Z. dolichopus . Reddish brown or chestnut, both ends darker; 11 – 13 mm long. Antennae with 38 or 39 articles, coxosternal teeth 3+3, coxal pores ranging from 2, 3, 3, 3, 3 to 3, 4, 4, 4, 4. Produced tergites 9, 11, 13. The species name is erroneously spelled “ sokariensis ” in Hollington and Edgecombe (2004).
