Chorthippus brunneus brunneus (Thunberg, 1815)
This species is widely distributed across the country ( Iorio et al. 2019). The presence of adults in winter has been reported in the Austrian Alps ( Landman 2017), while in Italy they can be observed between May and October ( Fontana et al. 2002; Massa et al. 2012; Iorio et al. 2019). The collected data indicate a phenology that can be extended longer than previously considered for the Italian territory. Individuals of C. b. brunneus were often observed singing, and mating was seen on one occasion during the 2019 surveys ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 ). Plots in which it is present: T1, T2 and T3.
