( Kanagawa) .

Description. Female. Body length 11.0–15.0 mm.

Head. Flagellum with 34–38 flagellomeres, almost filiform; 1 st flagellomere 2.0–2.2× as long as wide, 9 th flagellomere square, widest flagellomeres 1.4× as wide as long. Temple moderately and roundly narrowed behind eye. OED 1.0× ocellar diameter. MI 0.5.

Mesosoma . Scutellum moderately elevated, slightly wider than long, densely punctate, without lateral carina. Area basalis without median tubercle. Area superomedia hexagonal, slightly longer than wide; costula reaching its middle. Hind coxa densely punctate, with scopa ventrally (0.25× coxal length). Hind femur densely punctate, 3.8–4.0× as long as wide. External surface of hind tibia without denticular spines.

Metasoma. Postpetiole moderately widened, without latero-median carina, densely punctate, sometimes with fine longitudinal striae. Thyridium slightly oblique, 0.6× as wide as interval between thyridia. 2 nd tergite 1.3× as wide as long; 2 nd and 3 rd tergite coarsely and densely rugose-punctate; 4 th tergite densely punctate, shining.

Color . Black, with rich ivory coloration. Flagellomeres 8–16/18 dorsally, palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus, face except ventral transverse stripe, gena, complete orbits, spot of propleuron, collar and upper margin of pronotum, paramedian stripe of mesoscutum, subtegular ridge, longitudinal stripe of ventral mesopleuron, prescutellar ridge, side of scutellum, postscutellum, spot in front of spiracle on propodeum, apical half of area dentipara and area posteroexterna, posterolateral stripes of 1 st to 4 th tergites and wide dorsal spots on 6 th and 7 th tergites ivory. Legs reddish; fore and mid coxa and trochanters ± ivory; hind femur red, infuscate in apical 0.2; hind tibia red, infuscate in basal 0.1 and apical 0.2, mid tarsus brown; hind tarsus blackish. Wings hyaline, pterostigma brown.

Male. Body length 10.5–15.0 mm.

Structure. Flagellum with 36–40 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomere 2.7–2.8× as long as wide, distal flagellomeres slightly nodose. Tyloids on flagellomeres 10/11–18/22, oval, maximally 0.5× as long as their flagellomeres. OED 1.0× ocellar diameter. MI 0.4. Hind femur 3.7–3.9× as long as wide. 2 nd tergite about as long as wide. Thyridium 0.6–0.7× as wide as interval between thyridia.

Color . As described for the female, except: Flagellum black, ± reddish-brown ventrally. Face entirely, scape ventrally, orbits except small interruption at vertex, propleuron, ventral mesopleuron and mesosternum entirely, sometimes area basalis and dorsal spot of hind coxa ivory. Hind coxa slightly infuscate apically.

Distribution. Japan (Amamioshima Isl. and Iriomotejima Isl.), Indonesia and Myanmar. New record for Japan.

Remark. The species is closely related to the widely distributed Lissosculpta albopicta Horstmann, 2001 (new name for L. albatorius Fabricius preocc.) but differs by the partly infuscate hind femur and hind tibia, entirely black 5 th tergite and absence of ivory flagellar ring in ♂.

Lissosculpta javanica (Cameron, 1905) was also reported from the Ryukyus ( Uchida 1926, 1956, Momoi 1970) but differs by a different carination of propodeum (e. g. area basalis and superomedia confluent and narrow, see Uchida 1932: Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–4 ), black instead of red hind coxa and an ivory apical band of 5 th tergite. It is possible that these reports are misidentifications of L. glaucosignata (Heinrich) .
