Genus Zoosphaerium Pocock, 1895 View in CoL

Type species: Sphaerotherium neptunus Butler, 1872 .

Synonyms: Heligmasoma Chamberlin, 1921 , Globotherium Brolemann, 1922 .

See Wesener & Wägele (2008) for an extensive revision of the genus. Zoosphaerium was divided into speciesgroups, but it remains unclear if those species-groups represent monophyletic units which might deserve generic status. One new species-group, based on Z. blandum ( de Saussure & Zehntner, 1902) is introduced here. Only two of the new species could not be assigned to a species-group.
