Euderomphale Girault, 1916: 410 . Type species: Euderomphale fuscipennis Girault (= E. flavimedia (Howard )) , by original designation.

Diagnosis

Flagellum with two funicular (F1 always distinctly smaller than F2) and three claval segments (figures 92–94); scrobal sulci and frontal suture absent (figure 11); malar sulcus incomplete and extending away from the mouth margin (figure 12); occiput with a weak transverse groove in upper part (as in Cabeza (figure 75)), and with a weak longitudinal median groove; eyes ± hairy (figure 11); mid lobe of mesoscutum with two pair of setae, close to anterior margin (figures 1, 13); axillae completely separated from mesoscutum by a sulcus and predominantly placed in front of scutellum (figure 13); scutellum with two pair of setae, one larger pair near the middle of scutellum and one smaller pair at the posterior margin (figures 1, 14); presence of antero-lateral abdominal glands (ALAGs), situated anterolaterally on gaster (figure 16); sixth gastral tergite mainly membranous, with two plates, each with a spiracle (figure 15).

Distribution

Almost worldwide, but not recorded from Australia or South-East Asia (Bouček, 1988).

Hosts

Whiteflies in the subfamily Aleyrodinae ( Hemiptera : Aleyrodidae ) (a complete list of records can be found in LaSalle and Schauff, 1994).
