Neopomphale rubii View in CoL sp. n.
(figure 52)
Diagnosis
Large species; eyes small, ratio HE/MS=1.4; pedicel predominantly pale yellow, scape dark brown with apical one-third yellowish brown, flagellum pale brown; mesoscutum and scutellum distinctly convex.
Female (length of body =1.0 mm)
Colour. Scape dark brown with apical one-third yellowish brown; pedicel pale yellow with base infuscate; flagellum pale brown. Head and mesosoma black with golden tinges. Coxae and femora dark and metallic; fore tibia with basal one-half pale brown, outer one-half yellowish brown, mid and hind tibiae dark and metallic; fore tarsus yellowish brown, mid tarsus yellowish white, hind tarsus with segments 1–2 pale brown, 3–4 yellowish white. Fore wing ± infuscate. Gaster black with golden tinges, membranes yellowish brown.
Head. Antenna as in figure 52. HE/MS/MO: 1.4/1.0/1.0. Frons with weak reticulation, meshes transverse. Vertex with strong reticulation, meshes transverse. Posterior ocelli situated at occipital margin; POL/OOL: 2.3/1.0. Occipital margin rounded; transverse groove on occiput distinct, median longitudinal groove absent. WH/WT=1.0.
Mesosoma . Mesoscutum convex, 0.5× as long as wide, with rather strong and engraved reticulation, meshes isodiametric in anterior one-third, elongate in posterior two-thirds, with one pair of setae situated close to anterior margin. Scutellum convex, 0.7× as long as wide, with rather strong and engraved reticulation, meshes ± isodiametric medially, elongate laterally; scutellar setae situated in posterior onehalf of scutellum, ratio distances to anterior margin of scutellum/posterior margin of scutellum=2.4. Axilla advanced its entire length in front of scuto-scutellar sulcus. TPS strongly curved. Fore wing speculum open below; LW/LM/HW: 1.9/1.0/1.2; postmarginal vein absent. Propodeum smooth and shiny; propodeal callus with two setae.
Metasoma. Gastral tergites smooth and shiny; MM/LG=0.9.

Remarks
We have considered the possibility that rubii (known in the female sex only) and longicornis (known in the male sex only) were the same species (they are both large species and both have mesoscutum and scutellum convex). But the fact that the eyes of rubii (the female) is smaller than in longicornis (the male) indicates that this is not so. In Neopomphale the male has smaller eyes than the female.
