Agnaptoria amdoensis Medvedev, 2006
( Figs 19–30 View FIGURES 19 – 30 , 38, 39 View FIGURES 36 – 39 )
Medvedev, 2006: 197–199.
Remarks. Medvedev (2006) described this species based on a single female labeled “Amdo, 1886, G. Potanin”. The locality “Amdo” is located around Madoi, Qinghai Province. On 2 July 2008, many specimens of this species were collected by the authors from the type locality; these newly collected specimens matched the original description very well. Although the types were unavailable in our study, we are confident in our identification, permitting us to describe the formerly unknown male of this species here.
Material examined. CHINA: Qinghai Prov., Madoi, Yeniugou: 32 males and 21 females, 29º33' N, 87º04' E, 4700 m, 2 Jul. 2008, collected by Guo-dong Ren et al. ( MHBU).
Male (19–30). Antennae slightly longer than in female, reaching posterior margin of pronotum, length (width) ratio of antennomeres II–XI as follows: 8(9): 8(9): 22(11): 8(10): 11(10): 10(11): 11(11): 9(13): 10(15): 11(14): 14(13).
Pronotum ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ) transverse, 1.28–1.41 (average=1.34, n=10) times as wide as long, widest at middle, 1.64–1.83 (average=1.76, n=10) times as wide as head. Ratio of pronotal width at anterior margin to its maximum to posterior margin: 49: 75: 65 (on the average, n=10). Anterior margin shallowly emarginated, bordered on both sides, but not bordered in middle, lateral margins arcuately narrowed to anterior and posterior margins, weakly bordered entirely, posterior margin straight, not bordered. Elytra elongate-oval, 1.41–1.59 (average=1.49, n=10) times as long as wide, 1.09–1.26 (average=1.20, n=10) times as wide as posterior margin of pronotum.
Legs rather robust, length (width) ratio of pro-, meso- and meta-femora 60(20): 66(19): 76(19); that of corresponding tibiae: 54(11): 56(12): 71(13). Inner surface of pro- and meso-tibiae densely covered with pale hairs on apical part. Ventral surface of protarsomeres I–II and mesotarsomere II with hair brushes; protarsomere III and mesotarsomere II each with a tuft of pale hairs at apex, protarsomere IV with two tufts of pale hairs at apex.
Aedeagus ( Figs. 25–27 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ): length 3.48 mm, width 0.64 mm (specimen body length 11.9 mm). Parameres elongate, slightly narrowed or parallel near apex, length 1.23 mm, width 0.47 mm. Anal plate as in Fig. 28 View FIGURES 19 – 30 . Spiculum gastrale as in Fig. 29 View FIGURES 19 – 30 . Apical margin of abdominal sternite VIII sinuate ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ).

Shi & Ren, 2005: 279–281.
Remarks. Shi & Ren (2005) described this species based on a single, damaged male (missing head and hind legs) and a single female collected from Markam of Xizang. On 6 July 2008, a few specimens of this species were collected by the authors from Riwoqê of Xizang, making possible a supplemental description and illustrations of the poorly known male of this species.
Type material examined. Holotype: female, CHINA: Xizang Aut. Reg., Markam, Dongda Mountain, 29°04' N, 98°00' E, 5008m, 9 Jun. 2004, collected by Yi-bin Ba and Ai-min Shi. Paratype: 1 male (without head and hind legs), same data as holotype ( MHBU).
Additional material examined. CHINA: Xizang, Riwoqê, Karmardo: 5 male and 2 female, 31º05' N, 96º19' E, 4550 m, 6 Jul. 2008, collected by Guo-dong Ren et al. ( MHBU).
Male (31–35). Antennae slightly longer than in female, reaching posterior margin of pronotum, length (width) ratio of antennomeres II–XI as follows: 8(8): 25(11): 11(10): 14(10): 14(11): 13(10): 12(13): 11(13): 12(14): 16(13).
Pronotum ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ) transverse, 1.74 times as wide as head. Elytra 2.08 times as wide as posterior margin of pronotum.
Legs rather robust, length (width) ratio of pro-, meso- and metafemora 70(21): 75(19): 91(19); that of corresponding tibiae: 62(12): 65(13): 85(17). Metatibiae strongly dilated in posterior 1/2.
Measurements. Male body length 11.1–11.8 mm, width 5.1–5.7 mm; female body length 11.6–12.5 mm, width 6.2–7.1 mm.
Distribution. China: Xizang Autonomous Region.
