V e r b r e i t u n g: Östlich des Kaskadengebirges von Südost-British Columbia und Ost-Oregon bis West-Montana (westlich der Continental Divide), incl. Ost-Washington und Nord-Idaho; mit mehreren Unterarten; Cryptomastix mullani hemphilli (BINNEY, 1886) , Hemphill Oregonian: Wenige Fundorte in Idaho, hauptsächlich in Waldgebieten.

H a b i t a t e: Bewaldete, halboffene Gebiete, oft nahe von Feuchtgebieten; auch in gestörten Wäldern und am Waldrand an feuchten Stellen; oft unter Holzmull, Laubstreu und Steinen, in Bryophytenmatten; gelegentlich abundant; etwa 600 m- 1.920 m.
