Material examined.
ASIA. Indonesia: male, Sumatra: Tep. Tingi, standing over: Oodera ornata in Hedqvist coll. BMNH(E) 2011-27 ( BMNH) (OSp02).
Remarks.
It is a single male specimen. It was collected in Indonesia, yet very distant from the only other species from Indonesia O. tenuicollis . It was standing as Oodera ornata (now O. longicollis ) in the Hedqvist collection at the BMNH but clearly differs from O. longicollis by, for example, the absence of bright colours on the head, a continuous corona (square in O. longicollis ), and a different mesoscutellum sculpture (completely lineate in O. longicollis , lineate only in anterior half in this specimen). We first intuitively assigned it to O. tenuicollis but it is also different from this species, not only by geographic distribution, but also by, for example, an elongated head (round in O. tenuicollis ), and a pentagonal pronotum (oval in O. tenuicollis ).
