Parhadrestia James, 1975a: 21 . Type species: Parhadrestia atava James, 1975a , by original designation.

Parhadrestia atava James, 1975a: 21 ; 27, fig. 4 (wing), and 28, fig. 24 (male gen.).

Holotype: male ( UC = MEUC, currently in CAS, No. 19148; see Discussion). Type locality: Chile, Coquimbo Province, Hacienda Illapel, Río Illapel, 600–900 m. Distr.: Coquimbo Region: Limarí Province (without precise locality), Choapa Province (Hacienda Illapel).

Comments. Besides the type locality given in James (1975a) and Woodley (1986), only a single additional record of this species is found in Brammer & von Dohlen (2007), of a specimen collected in 2003 from Limarí Province, Chile. Of the three males and eight females paratypes from the original description, at least 1 male and 2 female paratypes, and one additional male are deposited in the WSU collection ( Woodley, 1986: 385), and another seven (sexes not stated) are currently housed in the CAS collection. Only a single paratype has its depository institution unknown.
