Comments. The only additional record referred to this species is given by James (1975a: 21), of a male deposited in the USNM collection, labeled Tanumé. The synonymy of this species with Abasanistus rubriceps ( Philippi, 1865) was proposed by Kertész (1923: 93), but James (1973b: 21) maintained A. paulseni ( Philippi, 1865) as a separate species. Only with more material and examination of the types, this question can be further investigated.
