Angustuma basinigra View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs 1–10 View FIGURES 1 – 10 )
Description. Body length (including forewing): ♂, 5.9–6.2 mm. Dorsum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) yellow to orange, marked with black stripes and patches. Crown ( Figs 1, 3 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) with irregular black patch between ocelli, extending to ocelli. Frontoclypeus ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) with median longitudinal carina blackish ochreous, marking enlarged to a small rounded spot at apex, oblique lateral striations distinct. Lorum ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) black at base. Pronotum ( Figs 1, 3 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) orange, with narrow black band along posterior margin. Forewing ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) with broad black stripe along claval suture and Mvein respectively, apex gray.
Aedeagal ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) ventral apophysis in lateral view approximately triangular, posterior margin slightly concave preapically. Style ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) apophysis in ventral view F-shaped. Connective ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) stem in ventral view with lateral tooth at middle. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) elongate, expanded medially, macrosetae irregularly distributed, rows of elongate setae near interior submargin.
Type material. Holotype: ♂ ( QSBG), THAILAND: Chiang Mai Doi Chiangdao NP Headquarter, 19°24.278′N 98°55.311′E, 491 m, Pan trap, 5–6.VIII.2007, S. Jugsu & A. Watwanich. Paratypes: 2♂♂ ( NWAFU & INHS), same data as holotype.
Remarks. This species is very similar to A. jinghongensis ( Li & Li, 2011) externally, but it can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) lorum ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) black at base, pale in latter; 2) each forewing ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) with 2 thick stripes, latter with 4 thin stripes; 3) aedeagal ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) ventral apophysis in lateral view smaller than in latter, shape also different.
Etymology. The specific epithet, a combination of “basis” meaning basal, and “nigra” meaning black, refers to the lorum being black at base in these insects.
