Type:— INDIA. Maharashtra: 16 km North of Osmanabad, Ramling forest, 16 October 1966, V.N. Naik 1319 (holotype BSI!).
Synonym:— I. duthiei Drumm. ex Naik View in CoL in Proc. Indian Acad. Sci. 61: 227. 1970.
Differs from var. trifoliata in having 1–4-seeded and narrowly winged pods.
Phenology:— Fls. August–October; Frts. October–December
Distribution:— INDIA: Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra; endemic.
Habitat:— Cultivated fields (as a weed), fallow lands, wastelands and road sides.
