Host: Sterna hirundo L. [1, 2].

Distribution in Bulgaria: Popina (Silistra Region); [1] Burgas [2].

Lice of Saemundssonia identified to the generic level only were reported from Chlidonias leucopterus (Temminck) , Gallinago media (Latham) , Lymnocryptes minimus (Brünnich) , Puffinus yelkouan (Acerbi) and Sterna caspia Pallas * (see Balát, 1958; Touleshkov, 1960a, 1964a, 1964b).
