Patellapis pearstonensis View in CoL species-group
Males are characterised by a sparse row of 6–12 usually strong, long, curled and erect bristles on posterior margin of S4. Usually, the females of the P. pearstonensis species-group have reddish coloured metasomal terga (at least T2–T4) and / or a coarsely punctated clypeus and a strongly reticulate supraclypeal area. Further, their inner hind tibial spur is often strongly serrate (about 5–6 long, oblique projections) and their scutal surface is completely reticulate.
