Debilos anokum Scherrer , sp. nov.

( Figs 38, 64, 110, 142)

Description. Female. Fore wing 4.81 mm. Head: Antenna with 25 flagellomeres. Clypeus punctate, moderately convex, regularly curved, CWH 1.67; MWC 0.62, MLW 1.85, MWW 0.46; malar space moderately long, MSM 1.08; supra-antennal area with faint, median, longitudinal carina; minimum distance from eye margin to occipital carina laterally approximately same width of mandible base.

Mesosoma ( Fig. 110). Pronotum lateral portion next to collar inconspicuously strigate-rugose, next to mesopleuron inconspicuously corrugated, epomia inconspicuous; notaulus moderately impressed, uniformly sculptured with mesoscutum, not reaching middle of mesoscutum; mesopleuron dorsal half medially faintly strigulate-rugulose, ventral half without distinct ridges or rugae, epicnemial carina restricted to ventral 0.7 of mesopleuron, posteriorly inconspicuously, sparsely corrugated; mesopleural groove moderately corrugated; sternaulus anterior half faintly corrugated; postpectal carina medially distinctly bent; metapleuron, subapical fovea shallow, subcircular; pleural carina inconspicuous; propodeum anterior area very long, PLL 1.14, anterior transverse carina distinct, complete, slightly, uniformly curved, posterior area faintly strigate-rugose, with faint ridges medially distinctly arched backwards, spiracle distinctly elliptic, SWL 2.00, propodeal apophyses of regular height, thorn-shaped, AHD 2.20. Legs ( Fig. 64): Hind t4 posterior lobe about 0.33 × as long as anterior lobe. Fore wing vein (Rs+M)b perfectly straight, limit with crossvein 1m-cu distinct, ramellus absent; vein Rs&1M uniformly slightly curved; crossvein 1cu-a posteriorly slightly convex, arising distinctly apicad vein Rs&1M, by about 0.2 × 1cu-a length, angle with vein M+Cu about 90 degrees; vein 2Cua much shorter than crossvein 2cu-a, FWC 0.35; areolet small, APH 0.27; vein 2Ma distinctly longer than vein 2Mb ( Fig. 38); vein 2Mb tubular; crossvein 2m-cu with bulla short, about 0.2 × as long as vein length or shorter; vein 2Rsb slightly sinuous. Hind wing vein 2-1A long, reaching about 0.7 × the distance to wing margin, HWC 1.38.

Metasoma ( Fig. 110). T1 petiole basal half smooth towards base, apical half, postpetiole coriarious-punctulate, except pospetiole apical parts centrally smooth, sparsely punctulate, spiracle at about basal 0.7, prominent, T1LW 3.60, T1WW 2.27, T1GL 0.37; T2 moderately short, apically robust, T2T1L 0.72, thyridium distinctly longer than wide, T2LW 0.92, T2WW 2.84. Ovipositor approximately straight, OST 0.54, dorsal valve with nodus absent, notch absent; ventral valve tip with inconspicuous serrations restricted to very tip.

Color. Head black, mesosoma and legs orangish brown (149, 106, 057), metasoma mostly dark brown (073, 054, 042). Head: Scape, pedicel and flagellomeres 5–9 dorsally white; mouth parts whitish (218, 216, 195), except mandible apex blackish. Mesosoma: Collar dorsally and propodeal apophyses white; propleuron darker than pronotum, except ventro-lateral corner lightest. Legs: Fore and mid coxae, fore trochanter, mid trochanter dorsoposterior spot, hind tibia basal 0.2 and hind t1 apical margin, t2–4 entirely white ( Fig. 64), except dorsal brown mark taking mid coxa basal 0.4, and fore trochanter dorsally brown; hind coxa dark brown, except apical margin white; trochantellus ventral mark and femora basal 0.1 lightest; fore and mid tibiae anteriorly and posteriorly, hind trochanter apical margin dorsally and basal portion of hind femur pale yellow (241, 224, 144) to whitish. Fore wing with one faint, dark spot, around vein (Rs+M)b. Metasoma: Basally blackish, changing to dark brownish (084, 053, 021) towards apex; T1 ventrally lightest; T1 apical 0.2 and T2 apical 0.3 with white stripe, T2 stripe central 0.6–0.7 anteriorly concave, concavity apex reaching about half stripe width; T3–5 apical margin lightest; T6 apical margin, T7 and T8 dorsally, and sternites medially white; ovipositor sheath dark brown, except basal 0.7 ventrally whitish; ovipositor light brown (187, 144, 084).

Male. Unknown.

Variability. Unknown.

Comments. Included in the D. typurum species group (see item Species Delimitation). In the D. typurum species group, only D. anokum , D. umentum , D. aserum , and D. makirum have the hind coxa entirely dark brown to blackish. However, D. anokum is most likely to be mistaken for D. makirum , but it is readily differentiated from it by having the mesoscutum without a dark mark (vs. medially with centro-posterior square dark mark), propodeum anterior area very long, PLL 1.14 (vs. moderately long, PLL 0.95), fore wing with only one apical dark spot (vs. with two distinct dark spots), vein 2Ma distinctly longer than vein 2Mb (vs. approximately as long as vein 2Mb), and hind t1 apical margin, t2–4 entirely white (vs. t2 and t3 entirely white). Otherwise, D. anokum is also similar to D. aserum and can be isolated from it by having the pedicel dorsally white (vs. entirely blackish), postpectal carina medially distinctly bent (vs. straight), hind femur and tibia orangish brown (vs. blackish), and thyridium distinctly longer than wide (vs. subcircular).

Etymology. From the Carib word ànoky, meaning “fullness,” in reference to the fore coxa entirely white in this species.

Distribution. Guyana. Single record, in the Iwokrama Forest Reserve ( Fig. 142).

Material Examined. Holotype ♀ from GUYANA, Region 8 (Potaro-Siparuni), Iwokrama Forest Reserve . 04°40’19”N 58°41’04”W, flight interception trap, V-VI.2001, 100– 200 m, RBrooks & ZFalin leg. ( CNCI). Right fore wing with a torn on area between vein 2Cub and wing posterior margin, hind left wing detached and glued to articulation between hind left femur and tibia, mounted on triangle point.
