This species is known from both sexes since its original description. However Móczár (1970) did not described the hypopygium and the male genitalia, which are fundamental to understand the species of Mesitiinae .

Description of male hypopygium and genitalia. Hypopygium ( Fig. 65 ): longer than wide; with hypopygial median stalk partial divided; lateral margin parallel, and straight; with posterior margin bilobate with median indentation, strongly concave, with filamentary branch. Genitalia ( Figs 85, 86 ): genital ring protruding dorsally, with distal margin rounded and emarginated. Basivolsella fully outlined from basiparamere, with sparse line of hairs. Paramere fully divided into two arms; dorsal arm of paramere as long as ventral arm, club-shaped, and with basal margin thin; ventral arm of paramere slender, apex sparse hairy, inner margin straight. Cuspis birramous, with arms slightly indistinct; ventral arm surpassing dorsal arm apex, slender, and thin, with apex rounded; dorsal arm wide, and with apex rounded. Aedeagus slender; with pair of apical lobes, with apex not reaching paramere apex, lobes touching each other, with apical margin rounded, lateral of margin of basal portion convex; apodeme divergent, with base straight.

Distribution. Madagascar ( Móczár 1971).
