Description. Holotype ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 25 – 26. 25 ). FEMALE. Body 5.86 mm. LFW 0.71 mm.
Colour. Mandible, palpi, tegula and tarsi light castaneous; scape, pedicel, mesosoma , procoxa, mesocoxa, metacoxa, trochanters, profemur, mesofemur, metafemur, protibia, mesotibia and metatibia castaneous; head orange; metasoma castaneous with tergum 2 dark castaneous; flagellum dark castaneous.
Head ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27 – 32. 27 – 29 ). Head longer than wide, globoid [in lateral view]. Malar space longer than VOL, convergent anteriorly. Mandible with three sharpened apical teeth, equally wide in your extension; lower margin straight; lower tooth longer than immediately upper teeth, lower tooth wider than others. Clypeus with median lobe delimitated, quadrate; lateral lobe present, shorter than median lobe, truncate; median clypeal carina inclined, complete, straight shape [in dorsal view], above torulus. Intertorular distance less than torulus diameter. Antenna with conspicuous pubescence, suberect, sparse, short; scape slightly curved, thickening apicad; pedicel longer than wide, caliciform; first flagellomere shorter than pedicel, longer than others; flagellomeres short, cylindrical shape; first five antennal segments in ratio of about 47:15:13:8:8. Frons strongly foveolate. Eye small, round, hairy, its contour protuberant. Ocellar triangle compact, with frontal angle acute; composed by ocelli very small; with ocellar fovea present, narrow. Temple profile divergent anterad, vertex convex, its corner rounded. Palpi caliciform, cylindrical. Hypostomal carina forming obtuse angle. Dorsal half of occipital carina present, high, with side foveolate; ventral half of occipital carina present, complete, low. LH 1.14 × WH. WF 1.2 × HE. WF 0.53 × WH. OOL 1.18 × WOT. VOL 0.52 × HE. Distance of posterior ocellus to verte× crest 3 × DAO.
Mesosoma ( Figs 28, 29 View FIGURES 27 – 32. 27 – 29 ). Pronotal disc 0.81 × as long as wide; sparsely foveolate; plate groove present, but incomplete; anterior slope inclined in profile; anterior margin convex, with transverse carina, with anterior corner angled; trapezoidal shaped, with side slightly concave; longitudinal pronotal furrow present, complete, deep; posterior margin straight. Propleuron with epicoxal sulcus, shallow, polished. Pleurosternum with epicoxal sulcus, foveolate. Mesoscutum coriaceous, short; longitudinal mesoscutal furrow weakly impressed; notaulus complete, convergent posteriorly, deep, narrow, polished; parapsidal furrow incomplete, well impressed, parallel. Scutellar groove narrow, fused with axilla, arched, not dilated at ends; scutoscutellar sulcus conspicuous; scutellum short, coriaceous, plane, not touching propodeal disc; axilla strigate, shallow. Metanotum overlapping lateral region of scutellum. Propodeal disc shorter than half width, with central fovea fused with propodeal triangle fovea; median carina complete; without longitudinal ridge between median and inner discal carinae; spiracle elliptical; inner discal carina absent; sublateral carina present; lateral carina present; lateral margin sculpture coriaceous; posterior carina failed lateral medially; posterior spine of propodeum present, short, thin, divergent. Declivity of propodeum weakly strigate, with median carina, without lateral carina. Lateral surface of propodeum strigate, without superior carina, without posterior carina. Mesopleuron weakly foveolate and strigate at episternal furrow region, with subtegular fovea continuous with episternal furrow; mesopleural sulcus present, complete, foveolate; episternal furrow with inner margin striate.
Wings. Brachypterous. Tegula separated of mesoscutum. Fore wing with sparse pilosity.
Legs. Metacoxa without dorsal expansion, with ventral expansion. Protibia short [1.5× first tarsomere length], with protibial spur long [longer than half length of first tarsomere]. Tarsi with tarsomeres 1 longer than others, cylindrical; tarsal claw with two sharpened teeth, curved posterad; arolium simple, apex angled, and slender.
Metasoma. 2.91 × longer than wide; tergum 1 with ventral region coriaceous, with lap of lateral margin, with sparse lateral pilosity; tergum 2 with dorsal region polished, with sparse lateral pilosity, with ventral region punctured; terga 3–6 with dorsal region polished, with ventral region polished; with posterior margin of tergites straight, with sparse setae at posterior margin of terga 2–6.
Variations. Body length 4.11–5.86 mm; fore wing length 0.50–0.71 mm. Mesosoma orange. Propodeum with propodeal disc with median carina weak; with posterior carina failed medially. Wings may have been lost.
MALE unknown.
Remarks. This species is similar to Codorcas cursor (Kieffer, 1906) by having the frons densely foveolate; the ocelli very small; the longitudinal pronotal furrow present; the mesoscutum and scutellum short; the scutellar groove narrow and arched; the propodeal disc without longitudinal ridge between median and inner discal carina; the mesopleural sulcus foveolate; brachypterous. However C. antanosy sp. nov. has the malar space longer than VOL; the mandible with three apical teeth; the median clypeal lobe quadrate; the ocellar triangle acute; the pronotum with anterior margin with transverse carina; the longitudinal mesoscutal furrow present, whereas C. cursor has the malar space shorter than VOL; the mandible with four apical teeth; the median clypeal lobe angulate; the ocellar triangle obtuse; the pronotum with anterior margin without transverse carina; the longitudinal mesoscutal furrow absent. This is the second species of Codorcas .
