Distribution: Israel, West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria *, southern Turkey ( Pisanty et al. 2018; Wood et al. 2020).

Flight period: February–May.

Flower records: Asphodelaceae : Asphodelus ramosus ; Asteraceae : Crepis sancta ; Fabaceae : Trifolium purpureum ; Trifolium spp. ; Ranunculaceae : Ranunculus sp. ; Resedaceae : Reseda lutea . Males can be observed swarming around herbaceous Faboideae such as Trifolium in the early spring.

Pollen preferences: Six analysed loads from Har Gilo, Mount Ebal, Mount Meron and Jerusalem contained 100% Faboideae pollen ( Trifolium repens - type, Ononis - type, Trifolium pratense - type, Onobrychis ), strongly suggesting that the species is broadly oligolectic on this plant subfamily.

Genetic sequences available: BOLD accession nos. ANDIL278-22, ANDIL370-22, ANDIL374-22 ( Israel); GenBank accession no. SRX10365480 (UCE, Israel).
