Material examined. INFUECO stations: BC19 0611, 1 specimen, 1096 m depth.

Habitat. From intertidal and subtidal photophilous algae, Caulerpa beds, Microcosmus blocks at 40 m ( Campoy 1982), to sandy substrates at 1096 m depth.

Distribution. Species of uncertain distribution, since it has been confused with Syllis cornuta Rathke, 1843 ( San Martín & López 2000). In the Atlantic Ocean, recorded from the Cantabrian Sea to the Canary Islands, and in Gibraltar, also possibly on the coast of Catalonia (Mediterranean Sea) ( San Martín 2003). The Indonesian record is yet to be confirmed ( Aguado et al. 2008).
