Material examined. BRAZIL, Pernambuco, Recife, Parque dos Dois Irmãos, 1 Ƥ, track 3, Malaise trap, 17– 20.vii.2002, S. T. P. Amarante e eq. cols.; same, but 2 Ƥ, track 1.

Description. Female. As males of P. amphiatheratus , sp. nov. and related species, except as follows. Body length, 3.3–3.7. Wing, 2.4–3.0 long, 1.0–1.1 wide. Face broader, practically same width of frons. Legs. I: 1.0; 0.8; 0.4; 0.2; 0.1; 0.1; 0.1. II: 1.3; 1.2; 0.6; 0.4; 0.3; 0.2; 0.1. III: 1.4; 1.5; 0.4; 0.6; 0.4; 0.3; 0.1. Terminalia ( Figs. 9 and 10 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ): T10 mesally divided into two hemitergites, each bearing row of five strong distal spines and one small seta laterally. T8 and S8 laterally fused at anterior tip.

Comments. There are more than one species known from males in sympatry collected in the same locality in the state of Pernambuco, and it was not possible to ascribe the females to the respective males. It seems clear, however, that they belong to the group of species above described. It is possible that the three females under “ Paralicus sp.” belong to the same species, but for the time being we have no means to confirm conspecificity.
