Short diagnosis—Basidiocarps gasteroid, 40–50 mm in diam., pale brown intermixed with light green. Peridium bistratal, outer layer composed of repent and interwoven hyphae, 0.5–1.0 mm thick. Glebal tissues divided into elongated plates arranged centripetally near center. Pale green, gelatinous matrix present in center. Basidiospores 3.4–5.2 × 1.5–2.4 μm. Temperate species.

Description—Basidiocarp gasteroid, with rhizomorph, spherical to irregularly shaped, 40–50 mm in diam., pale brownish tinged, intermixed with pale green color, first Ochraceous-Orange (XV13′m) to Old Gold (XVI19′i), turning Sarccardo’s Olive (XVI19′m), Cinnamon-Brown (XV15′k) to Prout’s Brown (XV15′m) when mature, smooth first, then wrinkled, slightly groovy towards base, cracked when mature, compressed and hard after drying. Peridium bistratal, outer layer compact and thin, pale brown, inner layer rigid, white, 0.5–1.0 mm thick. Glebal tissues composed of centripetally arranged plates extending inward from inner peridium to center, pale green tinge of Mignonette Green (XXXI25′i), Asphodel Green (XLI29′′′) to Deep Grape Green (XII25′′′i), immersed in hyaline to translucent gelatinous matrix radially arranged from center. Rhizomorphs simple, rarely branched, same color as peridium, 20 mm long. Odor not distinct. Taste mild. Spore print pale brownish green tinged of Olive-Yellow (XXX23′′).

Basidiospores [50/1/1] (3.4–) 3.7–4.4 (–5.2) × 1.5–2.4 μm, Q = (1.58–) 1.90–2.44 (–2.67), (Q = 2.16 ± 0.23), hyaline to pale yellow, narrowly ellipsoid, rarely ellipsoid, truncate toward the base, smooth. Basidia 20–33 × 3–4 μm, 8-spored, hyaline, ventricose, cylindrical to irregularly clavate. Sterigmata short, up to 1 μm long. Peridium outer layer 250–550 μm in width, composed of repent, interwoven, pale brownish to yellowish, septate, occasionally clamped hyphae, 2–4 μm in width, inner layer 400–800 μm wide, consisting of hyaline hyphae embedded in gelatinous matrix, septate, slightly thick-walled, 2–3 μm in width, crystals not observed. Gelatinous tissue composed of loosely interwoven, hyaline hyphae 2–3 μm wide intermixed with gelatinous matrix.

Habit and habitat solitary on soil of broad-leaved forest dominated by Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb. and Betula platyphylla Suk.
