Type material. Holotype, female (slide number NJAUAcariEriH30-2, marked Holotype), from Salix sp. (Salicaceae) , Huzhong District, Heilongjiang Province, P. R. China, 52°01'44''N, 123°35'44''E, elevation 512m, 22 July 2008, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue, Zhen Wang & Zi-Wei Song. Paratypes, 5 females (slide number NJAUAcariEriH30-2), with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. Galls.

Etymology. The specific designation huzhongsalixus is combined from Huzhong (place name, where the new species was collected), and Salix (host plant genus), adding -us as the suffix.

Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to Aculus changbais Xue, Song & Hong, 2008 , from Salix gracilistyla Miq. (Salicaceae) , but can be differentiated from the latter by the empodium 4-rayed (empodium 6- rayed in A. changbais ) and scapular setae length 73, almost three times longer than A. changbais .

Note. This species occurred together with Aculops huzhongensis sp. nov.
