MALE: Unknown.

Type material. Holotype, female (slide number NJAUAcariEriH49, marked Holotype), from Euonymus oxyphyllus Miq. (Celastraceae) , Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, P. R. China, 47°43'36''N, 128°55'12''E, elevation 234m, 25 July 2008, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue, Zhen Wang & Zi-Wei Song. Paratypes, 4 females (slide number NJAUAcariEriH49), with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. White erineum on the lower leaf surface.

Etymology. The specific designation oxyphyllus is from the species name of the host plant, oxyphyllus .

Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to Cupacarus cuprifestor Keifer, 1943 , from Cupressus macrocarpa Hartw. (Cupressaceae) , but can be differentiated from the latter by the empodium 3-rayed (empodium 6-rayed in C. cuprifestor ) and female genital coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges (female genital coverflap with transverse lines in C. cuprifestor ).

Note. This species occurred together with Glyptacus alatus Xie & Zhu, 2010 .
