Type material. Holotype, female (slide number NJAUAcariEriH47-2, marked Holotype), from Acer sp. (Aceraceae) , Wuying, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, P. R. China, 47°43'36''N, 128°55'12''E, elevation 234m, 25 July 2008, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue, Zhen Wang & Zi-Wei Song. Paratypes, 3 females and 1 male (slide number NJAUAcariEriH47-2), with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.

Etymology. The specific designation wuyingensis is from the name of location, Wuying, where the new species were collected.

Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to Epitrimerus acersis Huang, 2001a , from Acer albopurpurascens Hayata (Aceraceae) , but can be differentiated from the latter by the prodorsal shield with granules (prodorsal shield without granules in E. acersis ) and coxal plates with granules (coxal plates smooth in E. acersis ).
