Relation to host. Vagrant.
Distribution. Australia, China (Gansu, Henan, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Jilin, Tibet, Xinjiang), Iran, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Serbia, USA.
Note. de Lillo and Amrine (2011, unpublished data) indicate that many of host records may be accidental occurrences or may represent other mite species, especially sibling species, that were misidentified. This species occurred together with Aculodes dubius ( Nalepa, 1891) species complex, rec. nov. Skoracka et al. (2012) used both molecular and morphological characters to reveal the Aceria tosichella complex.
