Antenna filiform, antennomere I not modified in males ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 A), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.4: 0.5: 0.8: 0.9: 0.8: 0.9: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 4.2: 2.1: 3.2: 4.8: 5.5: 5.4: 5.5: 5.5: 5.5: 5.1: 6.0; relatively slender than female ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 B), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.3: 0.6: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 4.5: 2.0: 3.3: 4.9: 4.7: 4.9: 5.1: 5.0: 5.0: 4.7: 4.9. Elytra 1.8 x longer than wide, surface sparsely mixed with short, elongate, erect, yellowish brown setae, and fine punctures. Apical margin of last abdominal ventrite with two well developed incisions in male ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 G); slightly depressed in female ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 H). Penis ( Figs 15 View FIGURE 15 C–15D) slender, 8.5 x longer than wide, gradually narrowed towards apex; apex of dorsal surface with deep notch below ventral surface; apex of ventral surface with shallow notch; slightly curved in lateral view, apex with deep notch between dorsal and ventral surface; ventral surface smooth. Internal sac with median endophallic spiculae short, about 0.5 x as long as penis, apex tapering and ventrally curved in lateral view, with two elongate spiculae at middle, apices rounded; five pairs of longitudinally oriented, tapering spiculae at base, basal pairs well sclerotized and others weakly sclerotized. Gonocoxae ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 E) extremely slender, 7.6 x longer than wide, sides narrowed at apical 1/10; apices narrowly rounded; inner margins approximate from apex to midpoint, apex with nine setae; extremely slender from midpoint to base but abruptly widened at base. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 F) well sclerotized; spiculum elongate; apex square, apical margin truncate, with dense short setae; disc with several elongate setae at sides. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 I) as wide as pump, narrowly separated from pump; pump strongly curved and apically narrowed; proximal spermathecal duct short, distinctly narrower than receptacle, apically widened, shallowly projecting into receptaculum.

Differential diagnosis. See diagnosis Doryscus luzonensis sp. nov.

Remarks. Seven specimens collected from the Philippines were misidentified as Doryscus testaceus by Weise (1924). They are members of D. luzonensis sp. nov. and D. mindanaoensis sp. nov., respectively.

Etymology. This new species is named for its type locality.

Distribution. Philippines (Mindanao).
