TYPE SPECIES. — Moskovistella octoradiata Afanasieva, 2000 ( Afanasieva 2000b: 136, pl. 1, figs 8, 9).
AGE AND LOCATION OF TYPE MATERIAL. — Frasnian (Upper Devonian), Timan-Pechora Province, Russia.
TAXON CODE. — 103.
STATUS. — Valid.
DIAGNOSIS. — “Skeleton spherical with one porous lattice shell. Internal skeleton occupying central position, represented by a slender 8-radiate spicule with a long median rod (up to 15.5 µm) continued into eight 3-sided (more rarely shaft-like) principal spines.” ( Afanasieva 2000b: 135).
