Yi Tianci; one male and four female from a stream, Jinyunshan National Nature reserve, Beibei, Chongqing City, 7 May 2008, leg. Yi Tianci, 106º23´62"E, 29º50´39"N, altitude, 503m; 14 males and 21 females from a stream, Chishui County, Guizhou Province, 27 May 2000, leg. Guo Jianjun. One male and one female from Chishui City were dissected and slide-mounted.

Female Body soft and smooth, 667 in length, 503 in width; the shape of dorsum and coxae similar to male; medial margins of CxI 88 in length; distance between CxIII median angles (including the secondary sclerotization) 55; genital plates (including pregenital sclerite) 183 in length and 109 in width; three pairs of genital acetabula, chelicera 234 in length, chelicera claw 71 in length; the characters of palp similar to male; dorsal lengths of P-I to P-V: 19, 75, 61, 110, 35; dorsal lengths of I-L-3 to 6: 55, 75, 93, 76; dorsal lengths of IV-L-3 to 6: 101, 158, 141, 120; III-L-4 with 4, III-L-5 with 5, IV-L-4 with 6 and IV-L-5 with 6 swimming hairs.

Remarks Previously, the species was known from nymphs by K. Viets (1935), the adults were then reported by Lundlad (1971). Uchida (1937) described the species from Japan; however, K.O. Viets (1987) noted that the species described by Uchida was not Limnesia (Limnesia) papillosa Viets, 1935 . The species is first reported from China. It can be easily identified by isosceles triangle-like genital field, of which the width is much longer than the length.
