Type Locality: Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul State, Saõ Lourenço.

Vernacular Names: Rufous-nosed Wilfredomys.

Distribution: SE Brazil to N and C Uruguay.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Morphology redescribed by Pine (1980 b) and critically compared with Juliomys pictipes by González (2000 a).
