DISTRIBUTION: S. British Columbia ( Canada) through W. U.S. A, to Oaxaca ( Mexico), east through Oklahoma to W. Virginia.
COMMENT: Formerly in genus Corynorhinus ; see Anderson, 1972, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 148:255.
PROTECTED STATUS: U.S. ESA - Endangered as P. t. ingens subspecies only. U.S. ESA - Endangered as P. t. virginianus subspecies only.
