TYPE LOCALITY: Cameroon, Efulen .
DISTRIBUTION: Sierra Leone to Kenya.
COMMENT: Has been most often recognized as a subspecies of nigrita (see Allen, 1939, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 83:1 -763; Rosevear, 1965, The Bats of West Africa, Br. Mus. (Nat. Hist.), 418 pp.; Hayman and Hill, 1971, Part 2:50). Koopman et al., 1978, Am. Mus. Novit., 2643:4- 5 listed it as a subspecies of leucogaster .
