DISTRIBUTION: Cuba; Hispaniola ( Haiti and Dominican Republic); Jamaica (extinct); Grand Cayman; Middle Caicos (S.E. Bahamas).
COMMENT: Includes pumila ; see Jones and Carter, 1976:30, and Swanepoel and Genoways, 1978, Bull. Carnegie Mus. Nat. Hist., 12:1 -53. Considered a subspecies of cavernarum by Buden, 1977, J. Mammal., 58:221-225.
