TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Quintana Roo, Cozumel Isl .
DISTRIBUTION: C. Veracruz and Oaxaca ( Mexico) to N. Colombia.
COMMENT: Considered a subspecies of bennettii by Schaldach, 1965, An. Inst. Biol. Univ. Nac. Auton. Mex., 35: 132 and Villa, 1966, Inst. Biol. Univ. Nac. Auton. Mexico, p. 216; but see Jones and Carter, 1976:12. Almost certainly a subspecies of bennettii (KFKJKJ). Closely related to bennettii but monotypic (BVR).
