Dolichochelia forresti Stebbing, 1896: 50 View in CoL –53, pl. 4 (Type locality: Mouth of Perham Harbour, Long Island, Antigua, sandy bottom covered with algae, shallow water. Holotype male, ZMUC).
Leptochelia forresti: Richardson (1905) View in CoL : 23–25, fig. 25; Lang (1973): 202 –211, figs 5a–d, 6, 12a–c, 13; Suárez-Morales et al. (2004): 61 –66, figs 29–32; García-Madrigal et al. (2005): 1158 –1159, 1167; Heard et al. (2009): 245 –256, 204 (CD-Rom Species List 19.1); Drumm (2010): 692 –698; Winfield et al. (2013): 471 –479.
Geographic distribution. Costa Rica Caribbean, Mexican Caribbean, West Indies, Gulf of Mexico. Habitat. In sandy bottom covered with algae, seagrass, in shallow water.
Remarks. Lang (1973) analysed material from Thailand (Koh Kohdal and Ko Kham) and Myanmar (Rangoon). However, on the basis that cosmopolitan species are improbable in this genus, the specimens recorded as L. forresti from Thailand and Myanmar could be a different species.
