Checklist of Sesiini View in CoL species from China (excluding Taiwan)

Recently, a checklist of the Sesiidae of Mainland China and Taiwan was published by Jin et al. (2008). This study listed 13 species of Sesiini . However, several species known from China were omitted, and none of the taxa described by Arita & Gorbunov (2002) in their revision of Sesiini from Taiwan were included. Therefore, similar to our recent checklist of the Paranthrenini of China (Kallies et al. 2014), we here present an updated checklist of the Sesiini from Mainland China based on our own results and data published previously ( Yang 1977; Yang & Wang 1989; Spatenka et al. 1999; Xu et al. 1994, 1999; Kallies 2007, 2011; Jin et al. 2008; Arita et al. 1994; Arita 2011). It currently comprises 20 species; however, several additional undescribed species are known to the authors and many more can be expected to be found.

Trilochana caseariae Yang & Wang, 1989 View in CoL syn. nov. is established as a junior synonym of Trilochana scolioides Moore, 1879 View in CoL . Sphecosesia rhodites Kallies & Arita, 2004 View in CoL and Lenyra ashtaroth (Westwood, 1848) View in CoL are reported from China for the first time.
