Vernacular Names: Guyanan Spiny-rat.
Distribution: SE Venezuela, adjacent Guyana and Brazil.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Erroneously considered a subspecies of Hoplomys gymnurus by Cabrera (1961). Placed in the trinitatus group by Patton (1987).
