Type Locality: USA, Nevada, Esmeralda Co., Mt Magruder, Pigeon Spring.
Vernacular Names: Sagebrush Vole.
Synonyms: Lemmiscus artemisiae (Anthony 1913) ; Lemmiscus decurtata (Coues 1877) ; Lemmiscus intermedius (Taylor 1911) ; Lemmiscus levidensis Goldman 1941 ; Lemmiscus orbitus (Dearden and Lee 1955) ; Lemmiscus pallidus (Merriam 1888) ; Lemmiscus pauperrimus (Cooper 1868) .
Distribution: Sagebrush steppe and desert from S Alberta and SE Saskatchewan, Canada, south to EC California and NW Colorado ( Fitzgerald et al., 1994), including the Columbia Basin of interior Oregon ( Verts and Carraway, 1998) and Washington, USA.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
