Chimarrogale styani De Winton 1899 , Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond., 1899: 574.

Type Locality: China, "Yangl-iu-pa, N.W. Sechuen [= Sichuan]." .

Vernacular Names: Chinese Water Shrew.

Distribution: Shensi and Sichuan ( China), and N Burma.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Certainly a distinct species, and regarded as such by Jones and Mumford (1971), Corbet (1978 c), and Hoffmann (1987). Occurs nearly sympatrically with himalayica in N Burma.
