( Fig. 88 View FIGURE 88 )
Holotype ♂, Thailand, Chiang Mai Province, Doi Suthep-Pui , 29.iv–4.v.1988, 1440– 1570m, I. Kitching (no sequence data) ( BMNH).
Body length 6.6 mm, fore wing length 6.0 mm and antenna length 7.0 mm.
Antenna with 54 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere elongate, weakly accuminate. Median flagellomeres 1.5 x longer than wide. Occipital carina absent medio-dorsally, complete ventrally and joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron largely finely aciculate, rugulose anterodorsally, with some deep punctures above precoxal sulcus, precoxal sulcius weakly impressed rugulose posteriorly becoming more vertically striate-rugose anteriorly, speculum distinct. Midlongitudinal carina of propodeum narrowly absent posteriorly before semicircular carina. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.6 x 1-CU1. Apical 0.25 of fore wing subbasal cell glabrous except narrowly anteriorly. Fore wing vein 3-SR 1.1 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.42 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.8 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.15 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu strong, tubular at base, more or less interstitial. Apex of hind tibia without comb of modified setae medially. Claws with very small pecten of approximately 3 teeth at extreme base of basal lobe. Basal lobe of 1 st tergite rather small, not protruding beyond spiracular tubercle, weakly convex anteriorly, weakly concave posteriorly. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite well developed on anterior 0.7 of tergum. Body rather densely long setose.
Antenna black basally becoming orange-yellow apically.
Etymology. Named after its collector, the lepidopterist Ian J. Kitching.
Notes. A. crassinervis Chen & He, 1997 , fron Guizhou, China also has the distal part of fore wing vein M+CU and vein 1-CU1 thickened. It differs in having fore wing vein r slightly longer than 3-SR, and the claws more strongly pectinate.
