Paratypes: 3 ♂, same data as holotype (voucher BCLDQ00205, Genbank JQ388442 View Materials ) ( QSBG), (voucher BCLDQ00207, Genbank JQ388441 View Materials ) ( QSBG), (voucher BCLDQ00208, Genbank JQ388440 View Materials ) ( CUMZ) GoogleMaps ; 2 ♂, same data as holotype except 1.v.2007 (voucher BCLDQ00214, Genbank JQ388439 View Materials ; BCLDQ00213, no sequence data) ( QSBG and BMNH) GoogleMaps ; 1 ♂, same data as holotype except 24.viii.2006, Y Areekul (voucher BCLDQ01065, Genbank JQ388368 View Materials ) ( BMNH) GoogleMaps ; 1♀, Thailand, Chiang Mai Province, Huai Nam Dang NP, visitors centre, 14–21.iv.2008, 19° 18.803' N, 98° 36.408' E, Anuchart & Thawatchai (collection code T5651) (no sequence data) ( HIC) GoogleMaps .

Body length 8.3 mm, fore wing length 7.0 mm and antenna length 10.5 mm.

Antenna with 68 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere pointed but not acuminate. Median flagellomeres approximately as long laterally as wide, slightly oblique. Occipital carina Occipital carina strong and complete mediodorsally, ventrally reduced and not distinct from adjacent sculpure, nor clearly joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron largely punctate with deep, vertically striate precoxal sulcus, speculum large. Propodeum with welldeveloped posterolateral angular protuberances; midlongitudinal carina present on anterior 0.4 only. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.3 x 1-CU1. Fore wing subbasal cell and hind wing subbasal cell both largely glabrous except posteriorly. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2.3 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.8 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.5 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.9 x 1-M. Hind wing vein m-cu well-developed, sub-tubular, pingmented, antefurcal. Apex of hind tibia without comb of specialised adpressed setae. Claws with 3–6 short stout pecten teath along most of basal lobe but not extending into gap before claw proper. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite large, anteriorly rounded, posteriorly weakly concave. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd metasomal tergite absent.

Etymology. Named after Miss Sophie Coulson.

Notes. This species is unique in having codon position 1891–3 coding for an A not an S. Specimen BCLDQ00205 differs from others for which sequence data are available at 3 bases, however, we supect that this is intraspecific variation as it was collected together with specimens 206–208 in same trap. All known specimens are from Doi Inthanon N.P.
