Holotype ♂, Thailand, Chonburi, Si Chang Island , 1.viii.07, B. Butcher, (voucher BB0010, Genbank HQ551248 View Materials ) ( CUMZ). Body length 3.8 mm, fore wing length 3.1 mm and antenna length 4 mm.
Antenna with 35 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere strongly acuminate. Median flagellomeres 3 x longer than wide. Occipital carina narrowly incomplete dorsally, ventrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron largely aciculate, more rugulose anteriorly, precoxal sulcus weakly impressed, foveate-rugose, specular area dull. Propodeum coarsely sculptured posteriorly, with complete midlongitudinl carina. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.1 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.3 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.2 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.3 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu absent. Apex of hind tibia with comb of adpressed setae. Claws without conspicuous pecten. Basal lobes of 1 st metasomal tergite weakly protruding, rounded, extending all way to spiracle. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite complete.
Etymology. Named after the character Ponder Stibbons from the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels, and a pun on ‘to ponder’.
