Holotype ♂, Thailand, Karnchanaburi, Suan Pa Thong Pa Poom, 31.iii.09, B. Butcher (voucher BB0005, Genbank HQ551244 View Materials ) ( CUMZ).
Paratype: ♂, Thailand, Chon Buri, Khao Khao open zoo, 20–31.iii.2001, Quicke & Laurenne (voucher AL0105, Genbank JF962757 View Materials ) ( BMNH) .
Body length 5.4 mm, fore wing length 4.1 mm and antenna length 4.9 mm.
Antenna with 39 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere cylindrical, strongly acuminate. Median flagellomeres 2.2 x longer than wide. Occipital carina narrowly obliterated mediodorsally, vntrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesoscutum rather coarsely sculptured. Mesopleuron almost entirely (includind specular area) rugulose, precoxal sulcus moderately impressed more coarsely sculptured. Midlongitudinal propodeal carina complete and stong. Propodeum rugose. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.7 x 1- CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell with distinct glabrous lozenge-shaped zone. Fore wing vein 3-SR 0.7 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.75 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 3.6 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.9 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu moderately long, straight, weakly pigmented, marginally postfurcal. Hind tibia with comb of adpressed setae apicomedially and ventrally. Claws without conspicuous pecten. Basal lobe of 1st metasomal tergite angularly produced and distinctly concave posteriorly and posterior margin of lobe nearly transverse or even reclivous, projecting far beyond the small swelling associated with the spiracle. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite strong and complete.
Etymology. Named after the assassin’s teacher character Grunworth Nivor from the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels.
Notes. The paratype ♂ is slightly paler coloured than holotype. The DNA seuence from the paratype is rather poor and might contain some reading errors.
