Mesochelifer ressli Mahnert, 1981 View in CoL

Remarks: This species was described by Mahnert (1981) from museum specimens collected under pine tree bark and previously identified as C. cancroides . However, the two species live in different habitats with M. ressli found in pine forests, while Chelifer cancroides prefers anthropogenic habitats, birds nests and living under the bark of deciduous trees ( Mahnert 1981). Mesochelifer ressli is known from neighbouring Austria and Slovakia (WPC 2023), and it also might occur in evergreen forests in Hungary.
